Goshen, undefeated in their region, will face an athletic Calhoun in Eagles Stadium, but head football coach Bart Snyder said the Eagles are still taking it one game at a time.

The Eagles are currently 2-1 for the season having lost to Pike County 12-0 in the beginning of the season, and after a win 17-14 win against New Brockton Snyder said the team’s attitude was impeccable during Friday’s game.

“That may have been the most impressive thing,” Snyder said. “The character in which they showed Friday night was just unbelievable because there was some adversity out there, but they stayed focused and didn’t allow it to affect the outcome of the game.”

Snyder said the team still had a bit of “youthfulness” to it, and in order to play mistake-free football they would have to grow a bit more, especially against Calhoun, a group Snyder called “extremely athletic.”

“Anybody in this area that talks about them will say they’re just extremely athletic, and you have to be prepared for that,” Snyder said. “They’ve got some great athletes over there…They can make mistakes and overcome it. Same way on offense, they can make a bad play and turn it into a great play in the blink of an eye. We’re going to have to play very disciplined.”

The Eagles and the Tigers will kick off Friday night at 7 p.m. The Tigers are currently 0-3 overall and 0-2 in their region.
