CGI’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) committee in Troy partnered with the Troy Elementary School Parent Teacher Organization (TES PTO) to repair and build an outdoor classroom for the school’s science classes and will be donating $2,500 to the TES PTO to assist the school with purchasing new laptops for the students.

Caleb Dawson, head of the TES PTO, stated CGI’s donation of both their time and money was greatly appreciated.

“I left the nature trail at Troy Elementary feeling like we really did something good on Saturday,” Dawson said. “Thank you CGI for making it happen. I hope we can work together again in the future.”

Emily Anderson, CGI’s CSR committee chair in Troy, said while giving back to the Troy community is one of the goals of the committee, it also was meaningful to see the TES PTO and CGI work together to repair the outdoor classroom and provide the school with the funding for needed items.

“We are so excited about our recent partnership with the TES PTO,” Anderson said. “Seeing members from our local office in Troy work together with parents and children from the community is exactly what our Corporate Social Responsibility is about. We aren’t just here for work. We also are in Troy to make a positive impact on those around us every day.”

CGI’s CSR committee will present the check to TES PTO at its next meeting. Anderson added, “We can’t wait to partner with the TES in the future and we are so grateful for the opportunity to make a difference right here in the community where we work and live.”
