Sanders says she is a people person who will always have an open-door policy for people from not just Troy but all of Pike County to come in and talk.

“Anyone can come in,” Sanders said. “I want people to know I am a people person and I want to help.”

Sanders is from Daphne, Alabama, then taught in Troy City for six years before working in economic development. Sanders and her husband Luke have two children, Allie and Davis.

Not only does Sanders say she has networking skills but also ability to adapt quickly to changes.

“Life is full of adversity, but we use that adversity to grow and learn from it,” Sanders said. “Change can always be good. We need to be able to adapt to things and just because something is done a certain because that is how it has always been done does not mean we need to keep doing it that way.

“I want to be the best I can be.”

Sanders said she is eager to be a part of all the work the chamber does including its special edition of the Visons magazine highlighting all of Pike County.

“We look forward to see Dana utilize her talents to build a better chamber,” said Kathy Sauer, Chamber president. “We welcome Dana on behalf of the chamber in her new role of vice president.”

Sanders started her role as vice president on Monday and said she is already settling into her role.

“I was ready to step up and dive into this role,” Sanders said.
