TB&T promotes Parker, Miller

Jeff Kervin, president & CEO of Troy Bank & Trust, is pleased to announce the promotions of John Parker and Jerry Miller.  Parker, former loan officer and South Branch manager, will now take on the role of Regional Retail Banking Officer.  Miller, former loan officer has been named as the new South Branch manager.

Originally from Elba, Alabama, Miller graduated from Zion Chapel High School.  He is an alumnus of Troy University, having studied Business Administration.  Additionally, he has taken numerous bank continuing education courses and is a certified instructor for the Alabama Banking Association.  He has taught several bank education courses for the association.

Miller has almost 30 years of experience in the field of banking, with large holding company banks and independent banks in the area.

He is a past president of the Troy Exchange Club and current chairman of the J.O. “Tip” Colley Awards committee.  Miller has also served on the Board of Directors for the Pike County Big Brothers/Big Sisters and the Family Guidance Center.  He is a member of Collegedale Church of Christ and serves as an advisor to the Christian Student Center.  Miller has been the color analyst for the Troy Sports Radio Network, broadcasting football, basketball and baseball for 25 years.  He is also an inductee in the Troy University Baseball Hall of Fame.

Married to the former Jamie Jones of Troy, they have two daughters, Jessica Miller Adair (Jay) and Kelly Miller.  They have six grandchildren.

Parker, originally from Troy, graduated from Academy Street High School.  He received a standard certificate of banking from the American Institute of Banking in New York, and is a graduate of St. Francis College in Brooklyn, New York, where he earned a BS in Management.  Parker graduated from the Alabama Banking School in 2005.   He has worked in the field of banking and insurance for 45 years, the last 21 with Troy Bank & Trust.

A member of the Exchange Club of Troy, Parker is also a member of the Pike County Chamber of Commerce Industrial Board.  He is a former member of both the Troy Housing Authority Services Board and the Troy City Schools Board.  He also serves as a current member and former Chairman of the Troy University and City of Troy Leadership Advisory Board.

Parker is a member of the Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church where he serves as Treasurer, Deacon and Sunday School teacher.  Married to Bernice Starks Parker, he has two sons, Ricky (Markesha) and Reginald and two grandchildren.
