8. Antonio Gillespie

7. B.J. Chitty

6. Chris Davis

5. Deon Anthony

4. Mark Wilson

With the loss of Kanorris Davis (who Troy seemed to lose often due to injury) and Brannon Bryan, juniors Mark Wilson and Dimitri Miles will be called upon to lead the Troy defense in 2013.

Wilson is a physical guy at 6-3, 230 pounds. He plays the run well and has enough agility to drop back into pass coverage. He was looked at as a leader during spring practice and that shouldn’t change heading into the fall.

The Tallahassee, Fla., native spent one season at Fullerton Community College before becoming a Trojan. He played in 10 games last season for Troy and was credited with 44 tackles which ranked seventh on the team.

Wilson will need to anchor the middle for Troy. Even though most teams in the Sun Belt spread things out, the run is still a big part of most game plans. I look for Wilson to have a huge year under Wayne Bolt and coupled with Miles could be the next Boris Lee, Bear Woods combo.
