A New Beginning for You held its ribbon cutting Wednesday for its new facility, which is located at 609 North Three Notch Street in Troy.

Administrator Patricia Wright said the new location opened in October and it much larger than the previous space.

The business is an adult day health service, which Wright said she hopes serves as a “home away from home.”

The goal of the health center is to prevent premature or unnecessary institutionalization of adults with physical or psychological challenges.

Anyone 18 years of age or older who requires daily living assistance due to conditions such as stroke, arthritis, vision-loss, multiple sclerosis, depression and Alzheimer’s disease.

The center provides social, recreational, health activities and services to help individuals maintain or improve their level of functioning.

Wright said she opened this facility to do just that.

“I just wanted to help people and make a difference in their lives,” Wright said.

The program offers core services that include: transportation to and from your home, breakfast, lunch and snack, case management, socialization, medication reminders, community outings, religious services, homemaker companion, exercise equipment, state-of-the-art computer training, grocery shopping, doctor’s appointments, bill paying and a host of other opportunities.

Wright said the facility has 26 employees.
