Mr. and Mrs. Mack Oakley Tinnon of Bowling Green, Kentucky proudly announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Miss Elizabeth Oakley Tinnon, to Mr. Harry Adam Shumaker, II, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Jordan Plaster, Jr. and the late Mr. Karl Thomas Shumaker.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Edwin Watson of Frankfort, KY and the late Mr. and Mrs. Edward Daniel Tinnon.

Miss Tinnon is a 2003 graduate of Bowling Green High School and attended the University of Texas in Austin, Texas, where she received a Bachelor of Science in corporate communications in 2007. She was also a member of the University of Texas’ varsity swim team and USA Swimming National Team where she won a bronze medal at the 2007 Pan American Games in Rio De Janiero, Brazil.  She received her Master of Arts degree in communication studies from the University of Alabama in 2011. She is a Coordinator of Recruitment for the University of Alabama’s Capstone College of Nursing.

The prospective groom is the grandson of Mrs. Jerry Spurlock, Sr. of Troy and the late Mr. Spurlock, the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Payne Shumaker, and Mr. and Mrs. James Jordan Plaster of Autaugaville.

Mr. Shumaker graduated from Tuscaloosa Academy in 2003 and attended the University of Alabama, where he received a Bachelor of Science in business administration in 2008. He was a member of Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity and is a member of the Tuscaloosa Rotary Club.  He is a Financial Advisor with Merrill Lynch Wealth Management.

The wedding will be at 5:30 p.m. on August 11, 2012, at First Presbyterian Church in Tuscaloosa.
