The Pike County Bulldogs picked up a key region on Friday night when they knocked off Childersburg 43-7.

It was Pike County’s sixth region game of the season. The win for the Bulldogs brings their region record to 4-2 on the season. The win gets Pike County one step closer to securing a playoff berth. Their 4-2 record is good enough for third place in the region, one game ahead of both Dadeville and Reeltown. The Bulldogs own the tiebreaker over Dadeville after they knocked off the Tigers 60-14 earlier this season. Pike County will play Reeltown on Friday.

On Friday night, running back Zakevin Pennington rushed for 256 yards on 21 carries and had four touchdowns. The Bulldogs also had touchdowns by JhaNairus King and Haranado Wheeler.
