Two Troy Trojans learned the news that they would be heading to the next level on Saturday.

Following the NFL draft on Saturday, Defensive back Will Sunderland agreed to a contract with the Green Bay Packers, while defensive lineman Marcus Webb is heading to Seattle as a member of the Seattle Seahawks. Both signed as undrafted free agents.

Sunderland played in 11 games as a senior last season for the Trojans. The senior finished with 38 tackles last season. He finished with a team-high four interceptions. Sunderland recorded two interceptions against in-state rival South Alabama, one of which he returned for a touchdown.

Sunderland earned All-Sun Belt First Team honors last season. Pro Football Focus rated the Oklahoma native as Troy’s best coverage corner. PFF placed Sunderland as the ninth best overall cornerback and 14^th best cover cornerback within the Group of Five.

Webb earned First Team All-Sun Belt honors for the third consecutive time following last season.

Webb played in 12 games last season. He finished with 26 tackles, eight for a loss. He finished with six sacks last season, three of which came against Georgia Southern. Webb’s six sacks was fith most in the league, while his eight tackles for a loss was 19^th most.

Webb’s three sack performance led to him being named Sun Belt Defensive Player of the Week. The three sacks rank as the third most in team history and 13^th most in a game in the FBS last season.

As a defensive tackle, Webb pressured the quarterback a team high 39 times to go along with 27 hurries.

Pro Football Focus ranked Webb as Troy’s top pass rusher. He was tied for second on the the team with six quarterback hits.
