Eagles split with Samson

The varsity Eagles basketball teams split their area showdown with Samson on Friday night in Goshen.

The Lady Eagles began the evening with a 57-11 loss to Samson. The boys followed up with a 75-41 win.

Ajayden Rogers scored seven of the Eagles’ points. Ella Baker and Amber Vickers each scored two points.

The Goshen boy’s varsity program scored at least 20 points in each of the first three quarters on Friday night. They went into halftime leading 42-25.

The Eagles outscored Samson 33-16 in the second half and cruised to the easy win.

Makel Avery finished with 17 points, while Deshawne Brown had 13 points. Tre Dix had 11 points, while Jeff Warrick Jakamron Rumph and Michael McBryde each finished with six points.

The Eagles will be back in action on Monday when they host New Brockton.
