The Neal Brown era at Troy University will officially begin Aug. 1 at the Trojans kick off their 2015 Fall Football camp.

The regular season begins Sept. 5 when the Trojans travel to North Carolina State.

Every practice during the fall camp will be open for the public to take a sneak peak into what Brown and the coaching staff will bring in the 2015 season.

“This is Troy University, the City of Troy, Pike County, and all of the Alumni’s football team,” Brown said. “I think it is very important for us to open it up and allow them to come in and watch their team work. Our kids get excited to see some people in the stands.”

Troy’s first practice begins at 10 a.m. on Aug. 1. In all Troy will practice 20 times during the fall camp.

“What I hope people see is a very efficient, fast-paced offense where guys have a lot of energy and have a lot of passion and fun for playing the game,” Brown said. “We are a fast-paced program. Everything we do is going to be fast. We are a no-huddle offense, but I tell everyone we are a no-huddle program. Everything we are going to do is going to be fast.”

In addition to being able to attend practices fans will also be treated to three open and free scrimmages. They will be at 11 a.m. Aug. 8, 7 p.m. Aug. 15 and 10 a.m. Aug. 22.

Following the scrimmage on Aug. 22, Troy will host fan day in the Trojan Arena with members of the football, volleyball, soccer, and cross-country teams. The Troy cheerleaders and T-Roy will also be in attendance to pose for pictures and sign autographs.

“There is going to be a light turned on that day. It should be a great day for all the Trojan fans,” Brown said. “The players put a lot of work into it and our guys have answered the bell on everything we have asked him to do. I think our buy-in factor is really high and they have performed well in the classroom. I think they are a group hungry for success.”

Troy is ready to get to work and prove the Sun Belt Conference coaches, who voted Troy to finish in eighth place this season.

“Obviously with some of the preseason rankings there is not a whole lot of things people are expecting of us right now,” Brown said. “We are a hunter right now. Our guys want and deserve support. The program has been really well supported in the past and I feel very confident that it will in the future.”
