Tornadoes possible during TS Karen

Despite Tropical Storm Karen looming in the Gulf and possibly heading for Pike County, skies should be clear for Troy University’s Homecoming activities today.

According to Pike County Emergency Management Agency Director Jeanna Barnes, it appears most of the impacts for Pike County will be felt late Saturday night through Sunday. There could be a few showers on Saturday, but nothing sustained.

As of Friday afternoon, Pike County was located in the middle of the forecast track. Impacts could be lessened if Karen takes a southern track. If Karen’s path becomes northerly, impacts will be worse, Barnes explained.
