Tuesday, Brundidge voters in District 1 and District 3 will be heading back to the polls to decide who will be the city councilor for those two districts.

After municipal elections on Aug. 28, District 1 incumbent Lawrence Bowden and his challenger Betty Baxter were tied with 81 votes. Neither received a provisional vote and remained tied after the Brundidge City Council canvassed the votes on Sept. 4.

In District 3, Anthony Foster garnered one provisional ballot giving him 23 percent of the vote. Margaret Ross led that race with 81 votes and 47.9 percent of the votes.

Only voters in affected districts will be allowed to vote in the Oct. 9 election.

The polls will be open in Brundidge for both districts at 108 North Main Street in the building that was formerly Haisten Hardware.

Races that were decided on Aug. 28 were: Mayor, Jimmy Ramage; District 2 seat, Arthur Lee Griffin; District 4 seat Cynthia Pearson; and District 5 seat, Steven Coleman.
