It’s a been long process for GoodTimes Bowling owner Scott Good but he said he anticipates Troy’s new bowling alley to be open in the next 7-10 days.

Good received his liquor and business license from the City of Troy at a recent Troy City Council meeting and Tuesday the bowling alley went through the necessary inspections required before opening.

The bowling alley features 16 bowling lanes.

Good said if the bowling alley passes all inspections ,with no needed repairs or fixes, it could open as soon as the end of this week. Regardless, Good said he anticipates the bowling alley to be open in the next 7-10 days.

GoodTimes, which will be Troy’s only bowling alley, will feature 16 bowling lanes along with a full-service kitchen.

“We can’t wait,” Good said of opening. “We’re doing interviews and hiring and staffing right now. We’ve been at it for probably a week. We went through the city council and got our licenses and everything. So, it’s finally starting to feel real. We can see the light at the end of the tunnel.”

One thing that will set GoodTimes apart from other bowling alleys in the area is its large arcade, which features more than 20 games including air hockey, racing games, Halo, basketball and much more. It even includes a Fast and Furious racing game that has just recently been released.

“We want people to have fun, it’s family entertainment and fun,” Good said about what people in Troy can expect from the bowling alley. “I want to focus on fun, family fun. We will close at 10 p.m. during the week and at 11 p.m. on the weekend. We’re not out here trying to get a rowdy crowd. We want people to enjoy themselves and have a great time.”

Good said that he also wants to make sure that GoodTimes in Troy is here for the long haul.

“I want people to come here and say, ‘Wow, look at this.’ I want this to be the nicest spot in Troy,” he emphasized. “I want people to respect it because I want it to last. We just had our six-year anniversary at my place in Auburn and it still looks just like this one. Our focus is quality and enjoyment and for people to have a good time and this to be the happening spot in Troy.”

GoodTimes will be located adjacent to Publix, next to Baumhower’s Victory Grille, in Troy. For more information, visit https://www.goodtimesbowling.com/.
