Bulldogs advance to round two

The Pike County Bulldogs advanced to next week’s second round when they knocked off Hillcrest-Evergreen 39-21 in the opening round of the Class 3A State Playoffs on Friday night.

The win for the Bulldogs gives them their first postseason win since they made it to the quarterfinals during the 2018 season.

The Bulldogs will host Montgomery Academy next Friday night in Brundidge.

Ian Foster scored three touchdowns; two of which were rushing touchdowns and he also had one on an interception return. K’Ahrius Pennington added two touchdowns, while Zakevin Pennington had one.

Along with Foster’s interception, the Bulldogs also had interceptions by K’Ahrius Pennington, Amaghie Lampley and Jaquavion Meadows.

Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
