Bulldogs look to secure playoff berth against Reeltown

The Pike County Bulldogs look to secure a spot in the upcoming playoffs when they host Reeltown on Friday night in Brundidge.

The Bulldogs come into Friday night’s contest with a 4-2 region record, good enough for third place. They are just a game ahead of fourth place Reeltown and Dadeville.

The Bulldogs come into Friday night’s contest on a two-game winning streak. After falling to Montgomery Catholic three weeks ago, the Bulldogs picked up wins over Goshen and Childersburg.

In their last two wins, the Bulldogs have outscored their opponents 91-7.

The Bulldogs are averaging 20 points per game, while their defense has allowed under 10 points.

Reeltown needs a win and or a Dadeville loss to secure a playoff spot on Friday night. They come in 3-3 on the season in region play. They fell to Dadeville 7-6 last Friday night. Overall, Reeltown is 4-4 on the season heading into Friday night.

The Rebels come in averaging 24 points per game, while their defense has allowed 21 points per game.

This will be the first ever meeting between the two schools. The Bulldogs will look to secure a trip to the playoffs for the ninth consecutive season.

Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
