Ariton looks to win back-to-back games
The Ariton Purple Cats (3-5) – (2-3) look to win in their last home game of the season when they play region opponent Elba (5-3) – (3-2) in Ariton on Friday night.
The Purple Cats won their first game in a month last week when they shutout region opponent Zion Chapel 35-0 at home in Ariton.
This win came one week after Ariton faced a 4-game losing streak, including 3-straight road games, where they were outscored 89-173 by their opponents.
The Tigers are coming off of a 42-48 loss against region opponent Abbeville last week, and this week’s game against Ariton will be their second-straight road game.
The Tigers have both won and lost two games in their last 4 outings. Their wins have come by 50 and 28 points, while their two losses have only come by 7 and 5 points.
Unofficially, these two teams haven’t met since 1930.
Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
