The Pike Liberal Arts Patriots scored 56 first half points and ran away with a 56-0 win over rival Lee-Scott on Friday night in Troy.

The win for the Patriots improves their record on the season to 3-0.

The Patriot defense extended their scoreless streak to two games.

The Patriots had five different players score touchdowns in the opening half. The Patriots ran approximately 25 plays in the opening half leading to their 56 points.

After forcing the Warriors to a three-and-out in the opening possession, the Patriots wasted no time in scoring the games first touchdown. Jay Taylor hauled in a 67-yard touchdown pass by senior quarterback Mayes White.

After a second three-and-out, the Patriots doubled their lead to 14-0 when Aaron Greenwood ran 36 yards for the Patriots’ second touchdown.

White scored his own touchdown on a 54-yard run to give the Patriots a 21-0 lead heading into the second quarter.

A pair of receiving touchdowns by Javon Christian and Taylor gave the Patriots a comfortable 35-0 lead with 9:49 remaining in the first half.

The Patriots scored touchdowns on the first or second play in four of their drives in the first half. Taylor hauled in a 28-yard touchdown pass on the first play of a Patriots’ possession to give Pike a 42-0 lead with 9:20 remaining in the second quarter.

Elijah Caldwell got into the act during the Patriots’ next possession. On the sixth play of the drive, Caldwell took a White pass 10 yards for a touchdown.

Christian scored his second touchdown of the half and Pike’s final touchdown in the first two quarters when he took a White pass 65 yards for a touchdown.

The Patriots put in many of their backup players in the second half, and with a running clock in the final two quarters, there were no points scored.

The Patriots finished with 545 yards on Friday night. 308 yards came on the ground. White led the rushing attack with 177 yards on eight carries. White finished with 237 passing yards to go along with his five touchdown passes.

The Patriots had five different players finish with four tackles in Jackson Senn, Levi Sikes, Gavin Williams, Peyton Dicks and Frankie Jefcoat.

The Patriots will be back in action next Friday night when they will celebrate homecoming against Edgewood. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.
