The Pike Liberal Arts Patriots traveled to take on Bessemer Academy in a preseason game on Friday evening.

The Patriots scored just one touchdown and fell to the Rebels 14-7.

The Patriot offense totaled 320 yards of total offense. Quarterback Mayes White completed five passes for 114 yards. Javon Christian finished with one catch for 70 yards.

The Patriots finished with 206 yards on the ground. White was the Patriots’ leading rusher when he totaled 131 yards on 16 carries.

The Patriots lone touchdown came on a goal line run by Kameron Baker.

The Patriots will open their season on August 28 when they host Crenshaw.
