Rebels set 2020 football schedule

Fresh off their first trip to the postseason since 2011, the Zion Chapel Rebels enter a new region heading into 2020.
The Rebels will spend 2020 in Class 2A Region 2. None of the current teams in Region 2 shared a region with the Rebels last season. They will share the region with Abbeville, Ariton, Cottonwood, Elba, Geneva County, Houston County and G.W. Long.
The Rebels not only made it to the post season for the first time since 2011, but they also finished above .500 for the first time in eight years.
They hope to get off to a good start when begin the season on August 28 when they open up at home against Kinston. They remain at home the following week for the region opener against Abbeville on September 4.
They hit the road for the first time the following week when they travel to take on Elba on September 11. They return home the following week to take on Houston Academy before hitting the road for the next three game.
The Rebels begin the road swing against Samson on September 25. They will then play G.W. Long and Ariton.
They close out the season with a home game against Cottonwood, a road game against Geneva County and a home game against Pleasant Home in the regular season finale on October 30.
The combined 2019 record for Zion Chapel’s opponents was 53-57. Four of their 2020 opponents made the postseason in 2019.
