Woods and Pinson Valley went on to win the Class 6A State championship following the 2018-2019 season. They lost in the quarterfinals this past season.

Woods was named the Class 6A Player of the Year a total of three times.

“Kam reminds me so much of one of my former players, Erick Neal,” Troy head coach Scott Cross said. “Kam has the ball on a string, is an amazing finisher and is one of the best overall scorers that I have ever seen. He will bring instant offense and a ton of excitement to Trojan Arena this season!”

The 6’1” guard was the seventh leading scorer in the country this past season. He finished the season averaging 38.1 points per game for Pinson Valley.

During Pinson Valley’s tournament run, Woods scored 41 points against Oxford in the regional semifinals. 36 of his 41 points came in the second half.

Woods finished his high school career with 3, 871 career points. He reached the 40-point mark 10 times in his career.
