Eagles rout Daleville

The Goshen Eagles used a five-run second inning to knock off Daleville 14-0 on Monday afternoon in Goshen.

The Eagles scored in every inning of Monday’s four-inning game.

Peyton Stamey got the start for the Eagles. Stamey pitched all four innings and allowed just one base runner due to a walk. He struck out seven batters.

The Eagles opened the contest with three runs in the first. Carson Williams started the scoring with an RBI groundout. Caleb Gamble brought in two runs with a single.

McGwire Stanley had a two-run double and Gamble brought in another run on a single in the second and the Eagles took an 8-0 lead into the third.

Mason Calhoun tripled in the third, Jeff Warrick singled and the Eagles’ lead grew to 10 at 10-0 in the third.

The Eagles closed out their scoring with four runs in the fourth inning. The inning was highlighted by a two-run inside the park home run by Bryan Galloway.

Galloway, Gamble, Stamey and Mason Calhoun each had two hits.

The Eagles will be back in action on Tuesday when they take on Red Level.
