The Pike County varsity boys basketball team took home the area championship when they knocked off Providence Christian on Friday night in Brundidge.

The Bulldogs having already secured a spot in next week’s sub-regional round of the state playoffs, will now host the game against an opponent still to be announced.

Makhi Leverette led the way for the Bulldogs scoring nine points. Senior Andres Burney and Zakevin Pennington both finished with eight points.

Jordan Hobdy finished with six points, Ze’Quan Boyd and Ian Foster each had four points and Markelis Hobdy had two points.
