Burney and Bulldogs knock off Notasluga

With area play in the rearview mirror, the Pike County Bulldogs took on Notasulga on Saturday in Brundidge.

the Bulldogs received a double-double performance out of Andres Burney and the knocked off the Blue Devils 49-42.

The win for the Bulldogs improves their record on the season to 16-4.

Burney finished his double-double with 17 points, 13 rebounds and two blocked shots.

The Bulldogs gained an early separation in the opening quarter when they outscored the Blue Devils 15-9. The Bulldogs went into the locker room at halftime leading 24-18. The Bulldogs were outscored 11-9 in the second quarter.

The Bulldogs scored just six points in the third quarter, but the defense held the Blue Devils to just four points and the Bulldogs went into the fourth leading 30-22.

Burney scored 12 of his 17 points in the fourth quarter, 10 of them came at the free throw line to help the Bulldogs hold on to the win.

Jordan Hobdy finished with eight points, while Amaghie Lampley had seven points, Zakevin Pennington had five points and Omar Cumberbatch had four. Bendarius Myand and Johnathan Siler each had three.
