The Pike County Lady Bulldogs continued area play on Friday night in Brundidge. Their hopes of winning the regular season area championship was boosted when they knocked off Providence Christian 47-38.  They are now in a tie for first place with Providence and depending on the results of the game between Houston Academy and Wicksburg, Houston Academy may force a three-way tie.

A coin flip to determine who will host the area championship will take place on Monday.

After going into halftime leading 23-20, The Bulldogs went into the fourth quarter leading 32-31. Kyah Rouse finished with nine fourth quarter points and the Bulldogs outscored the Eagles 15-7 to secure the win.

The Bulldogs have three non-area games remaining on their schedule. The first will take place on Saturday when they host Notasulga.
