Patriots hold off Evangel

It took two overtimes, but the Pike Lady Patriots extended their winning streak on Monday night with a 49-47 win over Evangel.

The win for the Lady Patriots extends their winning streak to 10 games and they now sit 16-7 on the season.

Regulation ended with the two teams tied at 37. Both teams’ offenses were able to muster four points in the first overtime session and the game moved to overtime number two.

Shelby Renfroe scored four points in the second overtime, add two points a piece by Sarah Todd Floyd and Lakin Harrell and the Patriots outscored Evangel 8-6 in the second five minute overtime to win the game.

Renfroe finished the game with a team-high 27 points to go along with two assists and one rebound. Ansley Adams had 10 points and Harrell finished with five. Tiffany Johnson finished with four points and three rebounds.

The Patriot boys lost to No. 1 Evangel 59-33. The Patriots will take on Northside on Thursday in the home finale.
