Trojans close out Scottsboro tournament with 72-60 win

The Charles Henderson High School basketball team closed out play in a tournament in Scottsboro on Wednesday morning with a 72-60 win over Kate Smith DAR.

The Trojans finish out the tournament with a 1-2 record.

The Trojans outscored Kate Smith in the first three quarters on Wednesday morning. They went into halftime holding a 32-26 lead. After outscoring Kate Smith 25-16, the Trojans went into the final quarter leading 57-42.

The Trojans had three players finish in double figures led by Tay Knox, who finished with a game-high 22 points. Ja’Carion Burney finished with 14 points, while Cody Youngblood had 13. Devin Parker and Darryl Lee each finished with seven points, while Zachary Henderson had six.

The Trojans will be back in action after the Thanksgiving holiday. They will host the rival Pike County Bulldogs on Tuesday. They will follow the junior varsity boys and varsity girls. The varsity boys begin the action beginning at 4:30 p.m.
