Patriots fall to Glenwood in overtime

The Pike Liberal Arts varsity boys basketball team fell to Glenwood in overtime on Tuesday in the Lee-Scott Academy Tournament in Auburn.

The Patriots were outscored 5-3 in the extra session on their way to a loss.

The Patriots had four players finish in double figures. Javon Christian and Nick O’Brien led the way, both scoring 14 points. Eight of Christian’s 14 points came in the final quarter. O’Brien made four three-pointers, including two in the opening quarter.

Austin Cross finished with 13 points, while Drew Nelson also finished in double figures with 11.

Jaquavian Johson finished with four points and Jeff Knotts had two.

Glenwood outscored the Patriots in the first half and went into halftime leading 34-24. The Patriots closed the gap in the second half when they outscored Glenwood 21-10 in the third quarter.

The Patriots will have the rest of the week off. They will return to action next Tuesday when they travel to Prattville to play Autauga.
