Patriots fall to the Volunteers

The Pike Liberal Arts Patriots were shutout on the road against Monroe Academy 27-0 on Friday night in Monroeville.
The loss brings the Patriots’ record on the season to 2-7. The Patriots are still in search of their first region win of the year, sitting at 0-4.
All of the Volunteer points came in the first two quarters on Friday night. They scored 14 points in the first, before closing the half with 13 more points in the second quarter.
Nick O’Brien led the defense with six tackles.
Parker Adams rushed for a team-high 26 yards and threw for 21. O’Brien led the team with 23 receiving yards.
The Patriots close out region play and their road schedule next week when they travel to Montgomery to take on Success Unlimited.
They will return home the following Friday to take on Lakeside in the season finale. Both games are scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
