The Zion Chapel Rebels’ goal of finishing the season above .500 took a step in the right direction last Friday night with a win over Central Hayneville. They hope to take another step this Friday night when they travel to Samson to take on the Tigers.

The win gave the Rebels a 4-3 record on the season and a 2-3 record in region play. They are currently in fourth place in Region 3. The top four teams in the region make the playoffs. The Rebels hope to make the playoffs for the first time since the 2011 season. The Rebels’ first goal is to get over the .500 mark. To do that, they will have to win two of their final three games against Samson, New Brockton and Pleasant Home. The three teams have a combined 7-14 record. It would mark the first time since the 2011 season.

Zion Chapel’s first opponent will be the Tigers of Samson. The Tigers hold a 2-5 overall record and a 1-3 region record. They are coming off a 22-19 loss to Central Hayneville last Friday night. After winning back-to-back games earlier this season, the Tigers are currently on a four-game losing streak.
