The Ariton Purple Cats remained undefeated in region play with a 29-8 win over Abbeville on Friday night.

The win for the Purple Cats pushes their overall record on the season to 5-0. Since losing their first two games of the season, the Purple Cats have rattled off five-straight wins.

The Purple Cats finished with 340 yards of total offense. They finished with 220 yards on the ground and 120 yards passing.

Quarterback Maddux Herring completed 10 of his 18 passes for 120 yards. Hayes Floyd hauled in four catches for 53 yards while Cade Webb had three catches for 43 yards.

Brian Smith led the Purple Cats on the ground Friday night. He rushed for 166 yards on 26 carries and had one touchdown. Blake Carroll had 51 yards with two touchdowns and Zack Phillips finished with 50 yards and one touchdown.

The Purple Cats will be back in action next Friday night when they travel to take on Barbour County.
