The Pike Liberal Arts Patriots hit the road for their third consecutive road game on Friday night. They will head to Abbeville to take on the Abbeville Christian Generals.
After playing two consecutive region games in weeks four and five, this week’s contest will mark the second straight non-region game.
The Generals represent Class A Region 1. So far this season, the Patriots are 1-3 in non-region games with their only win coming in week one against Morgan Academy.
Since that win, the Patriots are in the midst of a five-game losing streak. Their most recent loss came last week at the hands of Lee-Scott Academy 52-21 in Auburn.
They will have an opportunity to right the ship this week when they take on an Abbeville team who is on a losing streak of their own. The Generals fell to Lakeside 38-15, pushing their losing streak to four games. On the season, the Generals share a 1-5 record with the Patriots.
Other than scoring 13 points in two games this season, the Patriots’ offense has averaged 26 points in their other four contests. During their four-game losing streak, the Patriots have allowed 48 points per game.
The Generals are averaging 14 points per game during their four-game losing streak.
The Patriots knocked off the Generals in last year’s contest 65-13.
Game time is set for 7 p.m.XX
