Patriots drop to 1-5 with loss to Warriors

The Pike Liberal Arts Patriots’ 21 points was not enough in their 52-21 loss to Lee-Scott Academy on Friday night in Auburn.

The loss drops the Patriots to 1-5 on the season and it stretches their losing streak to five games.

The Patriots found themselves trailing 44-7 late in the third quarter before scoring two late touchdowns.

The three touchdowns for the Patriots came on a 38-yard reception by Davis Allen and Chip Faircloth had touchdown runs of 28 and 20 yards.

The Patriots finished with 273 yards. Faircloth finished with, along with his two touchdowns, 132 yards on 14 carries.

Quarterback Drew Nelson completed 13 of his 27 passes for 116 yards. Allen finished with three catches for 43 yards.

The Patriot defense allowed 534 yards on Friday night, 489 of them came on the ground. Nick O’Brien led the Patriot defense with 10 tackles, while Marx Copeland had eight.

The Patriots will hit the road again next Friday night to take on Abbeville Christian Academy beginning at 7 p.m.
