Goshen shuts out region rival Zion Chapel 48-0

The Goshen Eagles scored 29 second quarter points and ran away with a 48-0 win over Zion Chapel in the region opener on Friday night at Eagles Stadium.
The win improves Goshen’s record on the season to 2-0 overall and 1-0 in region play. The Rebels drop to 1-1 overall and 0-1 in region play.
Quarterback Bryan Galloway threw for two touchdowns and ran for three more in Goshen’s win. Galloway completed six of his eight passes for 171 yards. On the ground, Galloway rushed for 26 yards.
Galloway scampered his way in for a four-yard touchdown run for the game’s first points, giving the Eagles a 6-0 lead.
The Eagles went on to score 35 points in the opening half. Galloway scored his second touchdown on the ground when he scored from four yards out once again to bring the score to 14-0 in the second quarter. The Eagles closed out the scoring in the first half with a 79-yard touchdown run by Shipman, while Martin hauled in touchdown passes of 30 yards and 75 yards.
Galloway scored his final touchdown of the night on a 13-yard touchdown run.
Ja’Raye Blair took a Will Snyder handoff and rumbled his way in for a one-yard touchdown, the final points of the evening.
The Eagles ground attack was led by Tamarcus Shipman, who totaled 146 yards on 11 carries and had one touchdown.
RaQuan Martin led the way for the Eagle receivers. Martin had four catches for 135 yards and had two touchdowns.
The Eagles finished with 406 yards compared to 24 by the Rebels.
The Eagles will be back in action next week when they travel to take on Samson. Zion Chapel travels to take on Luverne.
