Eagles knock off Ariton

The Goshen Eagles shut out Ariton for the first three quarters and pulled out a 21-7 win over the Purple Cats on Friday night.
The win for the Eagles gives them their first win of the season.
The Eagles scored 13 first quarter points and their rode the strong performance of their defense the rest of the way.
Quarterback Bryan Galloway finished 11-17 for 136 yards and two touchdowns. His longest completion of the game was 31 yards.
Tamarcus Shipman led the Eagles ground attack in the win. Shipman finished with 121 yards on 23 carries. His longest run of the evening was 20 yards. Galloway finished with 113 yards on 23 carries.
Dakarai Pelton caught five of Galloway’s 11 completions and racked up 79 yards. RaQuan Martin had two catches for 37 yards and Tre Dix had two catches for nine yards.
The Eagles finished with 357 total yards compared to Ariton’s 127 yards.
Galloway connected with Martin on a 25- yard touchdown pass to give the Eagles a 7-0 lead. Later in the quarter, Galloway completed a pass to Pelton for a 26-yard touchdown.
Ariton cut into their deficit with a with a touchdown in the third to bring the score to 13-7.
The defense ultimately put the game out of reach when Kameron Baker scooped up a fumble and ran it Back for an Eagle touchdown. Martin converted the two-point conversion when he scored from 3-yards out.
The Eagles will be back in action next Friday night when they take on Zion Chapel in their 2019 home opener at Eagles Stadium.
