Troy Football Completes First Scrimmage & Media Day

TROY– The Troy football team conducted its first scrimmage of fall camp on the new turf inside Veterans Memorial Stadium as head coach Chip Lindsey guided his team through approximately 100 plays Saturday morning.
The majority of the first half of the scrimmage featured the No. 1 and No. 2 players on both sides of the ball before the coaches opened the depth chart towards the final 25 to 30 plays. The scrimmage took place on Troy’s Matrix Helix Realfill turf that was completed this week.
Lindsey will give the Trojans Sunday off before the team returns for two more days of camp like conditions on Monday and Tuesday. The Trojans will take Wednesday off for the start of the fall semester and then return on Thursday and Friday before another scrimmage next Saturday.
roy’s annual Fan Day and Football Kickoff Party is set for Saturday, Aug. 17 in Trojan Arena. Fan Day runs from 1-3 p.m. with free food and drinks plus schedule posters for players and coaches to autograph. The annual Football Kickoff Party takes over Trojan Arena that evening beginning at 6 p.m. with heavy hors d’oeuvres, complementary beverages and a $10,000 grand prize.
