Post 70 staves off elimination in regional tournament

The American Legion Post 70 baseball team staved off elimination with a 12-3 win over Columbia Post 19 on Thursday afternoon in the American Legion regional tournament in Tampa.
After scoring a total of two runs over the course of the first three innings, Post 70 scored 10 runs over the final three to seal the win.
Dalton Grider got the start in the win and pitched the game’s first four innings. He allowed three total runs, two of which were earned on six hits.
Reed Jinright hit an RBI single in the first and Joey Wozniak hit a home run in the third to give Post 70 a 2-0 lead.
Post 19 scored the next three runs in the next two innings to take their only lead of the game at 3-2. Post 70 scored the final 10 runs to pick up the easy win. Bryson Peavy picked up an RBI double and Grayson Stewart scored on a single and Post 70 took a 5-3 lead in the fifth inning.
Post 70 had four hits in their five-run sixth inning and increased their lead to seven at 10:30. Wozniak hit an RBI triple in the inning and Post 70 had RBI hits by JC Ceman and Coleman Wright.
Wozniak finished 4-4 with four runs and four RBI. Reed Jinright finished 3-3 with three runs scored. Ceman, Wright and Will Aaron all had two hits.
