The Troy AAA tournament team begin play in the state tournament on Friday afternoon in Priceville. Troy got off to a good start with a 21-3 win over Morgan County American.

Cole Garrot got the start for Troy and earned himself the win.

Troy scored in all four innings of the game including eight in the fourth inning.

Troy jumped out of the gates early and scored six runs in the opening inning. Eight batters reached base in the opening and six of them came around to score. They followed that up with three runs in the second and four runs in the third.

Troy finished the game with nine hits. Both Cooper Johnson and Garrot finished the game with two hits and a walk.  Damien Williams, Kellen Stewart, Tucker Vaughn, Benjamin Cochran and Tate Kilcrease all finished with one hit.

Troy advances to the winner’s bracket where they will take on the winner of Opelika and AUM on Saturday morning beginning at 11 a.m.
