Troy Ozone Rookies stay alive with win over Dothan

A day after falling to Enterprise on Saturday afternoon, the Troy Ozone Rookies kept their tournament hopes alive with a 14-0 win over Dothan on Sunday afternoon.

Troy took a 6-0 lead into the top of the fifth inning. They posted eight runs in the fifth to pull away with a comfortable win.

Chase Vaznaian got the start for Troy. Vaznaian pitched the game’s first three innings. He allowed two hits and three walks, while striking out five batters. Jaxon Wade pitched the remaining two innings. He allowed two hits and struck out four batters.

Troy finished with 10 hits led by Slade Russell and Ford Hussey, who both finished with three hits. Vaznaian finished with two hits, while Luke Sikes and Wes Templin each had one.

Troy advances to Monday when they will begin play at 9 a.m.
