The Troy 6U team will have an opportunity to win their second-straight state championship on Monday morning.
They knocked off Ashford 16-4 on Sunday afternoon.
After scoring just three runs in the first two innings, the defense paved the way for the win.
“Defense kept us in the game early,” said head coach Scott Ross. “I thought it was one of our better games. Ashford was a good team, but we played really well.”
The win sends Troy into the championship that starts at 10:00 a.m.
“We aren’t taking anything for granted and hopefully we will play our best game tomorrow,” Ross Said.
Ross hopes the community will come out and watch his team play for a championship.
“Hopefully the community can come support these boys tomorrow,” Ross said. “They have worked hard this summer and deserve this opportunity.
