Both teams combined for eight hits. Post 70 picked up four by Wood Jinright, Bryce Peavy, Joey Wozniak and Will Aaron.

Troy lost to Panhandle Athletics 3-2 on Saturday, but bounced back to win their final three games.

“It’s not an easy feat at all,” Hixon said. “Our guys were not only mentally, but physically drained. I thought in our last game we had as much energy as we had the entire tournament. It’s a lot of credit to our guys.”

Post 70 is scheduled to get back in action on Tuesday when they take on Ozark at 5:30 at Charles Henderson High School.

“These guys are finally starting to gel together,” Hixon said. “To finally win and reach that goal you are going for, just means more.”
