The Troy Dixie Boys kicked off their District Tournament with a 13-2 win over Geneva on Friday night.

“We only had a couple of hiccups defensively and running the bases,” said head coach David Bradford. “For this to be our first game as a tournament team, I am extremely proud of our team. As we progress in the tournament, the competition will get tougher and those little things will hurt us.

Cade Renfroe got the start for Troy in the opening win. Renfroe pitched five innings and gave up one earned run.

With the win, Troy advances to the winner’s bracket where they will play Enterprise today beginning at 1 p.m.
