JV Patriots defeat Lee-Scott

The Pike Liberal Arts Junior Varsity Patriots scored three early runs on their way to a 4-2 win over Lakeside on Monday afternoon.

Parker Adams pitched three innings and allowed two runs on six hits. He struck out three batters. Skylar Kidd also got on the mound for the Patriots. He pitched two innings and allowed two runs on eight hits, while striking out four batters.

The Patriots finished with four hits. Kase Chirico led the Patriots by going 2-3 with one RBI. KC Bradford, Jayden Jordan and Kidd each had a hit.

Jordan hit a one-out double in the first to drive in Bradford, who reached on an error to begin the game. In the next at-bat, Kidd doubled on a line drive to center to drive in Jordan. Chirico closed out the scoring in the inning when he singled to center to allow Kidd to score.

Lee-Scott scored a run in the bottom of the first and in the bottom of the third inning to pull to within one.

One inning later, the Patriots picked up an insurance run when Bradford singled to center to drive in Adams.

The JV Patriots will be back in action on Thursday when they travel to take on Northside Methodist.
