Trojans sweep Northview in doubleheader

The Charles Henderson junior varsity Trojans swept Northview at Hogan’s Hole in Troy on Friday night.

The Trojans began the night with a 3-0 win on the back of a strong pitching outing by Brady Huner. The Trojans finished the night with a 7-3 win.

Huner held Northview to two hits in Charles Henderson’s game one win. Huner pitched all five innings and struck out six batters.

The Trojans finished with four hits by Barron, Bailey Sparrow, Cam Foley and Coby Johnson.

The Trojans scored their first run in the first inning when Press Jefcoat reached on an error, allowing Cobie Cantlow to score.

The lead increased to 3-0 in the third inning. Adrian Cardwell reached on an error and drove in Foley and Ben Reeves.

The Trojans entered the fourth inning of game two trailing 3-1, but a sixth run inning gave the Trojans a comfortable four-run win.

The Trojans, trailing 3-0 entering the bottom of the third inning, cracked the scoreboard when Foley hit a sacrifice fly that allowed Huner to score.

Charles Henderson sent 11 hitters to the plate in the fourth inning. They tallied five hits including an RBI double by Sparrow and RBI singles by Jefcoat, Reeves, Cardwell and Zach Henderson.

Sparrow and Jefcoat each picked up two hits, while Foley and Cardwell each had one hit.

The junior varsity Trojans will be back in action on April 2 when they host Rehobeth in a double header.
