Eagles improve to 3-0 in Trojan Classic with win over Carroll

After finishing day one of the Trojan Classic 2-0, the Goshen Lady Eagles kept up their winning ways in game one on Saturday afternoon when they defeated Carroll 10-3.
Tied at three going into the bottom of the third inning, the Lady Eagles scored five runs in the bottom of third to pull away from Carroll with a 10-3 lead.
Brooke Bennett pithed all four innings of the timed game. She allowed three unearned runs on four hits and a walk.
After falling behind 1-0 in the top of the first, the Eagles scored their first three runs in the bottom of the inning.
Bennett drove in the first run on a single to left. Madison Campbell had the big hit in the inning when she hit a two-run home run to put the Eagles up 3-0.
After allowing Carroll to pull back to within one, the Eagles added two more runs in the second when Bennett walked with the bases loaded and Campbell hit a sacrifice fly to put the Eagles up 5-2.
The Eagles put the game out of reach in the third inning when they scored five runs on two hits.
The Eagles finished with six hits led by Hannah Calhoun who went 3-3 with one RBI. Bennett, Campbell and Lydia Harrison all had one hit.
