Trojans defeat Highland Home 13-3

The Charles Henderson Trojans knocked off Highland Home 13-3 in five innings on Tuesday afternoon at Hogan’s Hole.

The win for the Trojans improves their record on the season to 4-2.

Caden Bryan got the start for the Trojans. He lasted two innings and surrendered just one hit and one walk, while striking out one batter. J.B. Sanders entered the game and pitched the next two innings for the Trojans. He allowed three total runs, two of which were earned. He allowed seven hits and struck out two batters. Jaylen Deveridge pitched the final inning for the Trojans.

The Trojans scored their 13 runs on just six hits on Monday. Lawson Scarbrough finished 2-3 with three RBI. Chance Pollard, Walker Stallworth, Will Reeves and Jackson Giles all had one hit.

The Trojans did much of their damage in the first inning when they tallied eight runs. After Pollard hit a leadoff single, three straight batters walked leading to the game’s first run. Huner came around to score the second run on a balk call. Scarbrough and Daryl Lee both came around to score on an error for the third and fourth runs. Pollard, Huner both walked with the bases loaded before Scarbrough hit a single allowing Christian McCall to score.

After pushing their lead to 9-0 in the second on a Jackson Giles double, the Trojans tallied four more runs in the bottom of the third inning. After a walk and a hit batter Scarbrough had the big hit of the inning when doubled to drive in both Pollard and Huner.

The Trojans will be back in action on Thursday when they travel to take on Andalusia.
