Bulldogs return the favor in win over Zion Chapel

The Pike County Bulldogs avenged their opening day loss to Zion Chapel with a 9-7 win over the Rebels on Thursday night in Brundidge.

The win for the Bulldogs evens their record at 1-1 on the season.

The Bulldogs finished the game with 14 hits led by Correy Rotton and Ben Myhand, who both picked up three hits in the win. Myhand drove in two runs. Joe Jordan had two hits, while JaQuavian Johnson, Chance Brunney, Tyrese Johnson, Amaghie Lample, Julius Allen and Whit Maulden all had one.

Quay Coleman got the start for the Bulldogs. Coleman pitched the first innings and allowed four runs on five hits. He struck out three batters, while walking two.

Rotton also pitched two innings in the win. Rotton allowed one run on two hits. He had four strikeouts. Tyrese Johnson and JaQuavian Johnson also pitched for the Bulldogs.

The Bulldogs will be back in action today when they host Daleville in a double header beginning at 4:30.
