Eagles split with Samson

The Goshen Eagles picked up a 68-49 win over area foe Samson on Friday night.

The win for the Eagles improves their area record to 6-0.

Keshawn Boyd led the way for the Eagles after he picked up a double-double with 18 points and 18 rebounds. Senior Caleb Dawson also picked up a double-double with 13 points, 15 rebounds and five assists.

Dakari Pelton came close to picking up a double-double of his own when he knocked down 17 points while corralling 17 rebounds. RaQuan Martin had 15 points and five assists.

The Goshen Lady Eagles were also in action on Friday night. For the second time this season, the Eagles came up a bit short against Samson. They fell to the Tigers 53-51.

Senior Bree Griffin did most of the damage for the Eagles. She scored a game-high 40 points. Harmony Robinson, Brianna Burden and Charlotte Lee all had three points, while Ella Baker had two.

The Goshen Eagles will close out area play on Tuesday when they host New Brockton.
