CHHS improves to 2-0 in area play with win over Rehobeth

The Charles Henderson boys’ basketball team knocked off Rehobeth 69-30 in Class 5A Area 3 action on Tuesday night in Dothan.

The win for the Trojans improves their overall record on the season to 14-7 overall and 2-0 in area play, putting them alone in first place.

The Trojans had 10 different players get on the scoreboard in their win, three of whom finished in double figures.

Terrell Sistrunk led the Trojans with 20 points, while Bradley Caldwell and Marcus Grant each had 11. Zachery Henderson finished with six points and Devin Parker had five.

Just three Trojans scored in the first quarter, but they tallied 19 points. Sistrunk finished the quarter with 10 points, while Grant finished with seven and the Trojans went into the second leading 19-7.

The rest of the team joined in on the fun in the second. The Trojans scored 25 second-quarter points and rode into halftime with a comfortable 44-21 lead.

The Trojan defense held the Rebels to just nine second-half points including only three in the fourth quarter.

Balanced scoring continued for the Trojans in the third quarter. Six different Trojans scored and by quarters’ end, the Trojans put up 16 points.

The Trojans will be back in action Friday when they host an another are foe in the Carroll Eagles.
