Patriots find success at the Abbeville Christian Holliday Classic

The Pike Liberal Arts junior varsity boys and varsity girls found plenty of success in the Abbeville Christian Holliday Hoops Classic.

The junior varsity boys, like the varsity boys wrapped up a championship in their tournament, while the junior varsity girls finished in second.

After dropping the first game of the tournament, the varsity girls battled back to take third place in the classic.

The Lady Patriots wrapped up third place with a 28-21 win over Chambers Academy. Tiffany Johnson led the way for the Patriots with 17 points after she hit of five of seven three-pointers. Shelby Renfroe finished with eight points, while Tenna Singleton had three and Ansley Adams had one.

Earlier in the day the Patriots earned a 58-20 win over Emmanuel Christian. Renfroe led the Patriots with 13 points, while Johnson had 11 and Adams had 10. Caroline Senn had seven points, while Mary Michael Hussey and Lakin Harrell had six.

At the end of the tournament, Johnson was named to the all-tournament team.

Junior varsity member Drew Nelson was named the tournament most valuable player.
